Contract Description

This Massachusetts Highway Department Contract principally consisted of the replacement of the existing 4-lane Winter Street Bridge over Route I-95 in Waltham, MA with a new 7- lane bridge. Due to the requirement that numerous utility lines be relocated prior to the start of construction (including approximately 26,000 pairs of copper phone lines) the construction of the new bridge was constructed in a series of phases. In addition to the construction of the new bridge, the Work also included construction of new collector/distributor roadways as well as all associated utilities and traffic lighting systems. Located to the south of the Bridge was a new soil nail wall that was also to be constructed as a part of this contract.
